Lycos, Inc., a pioneer in online search and leading developer of online games and website publishing, today announced the release of Evincible, a social word game for iOS. Evincible is available for free download, or $0.99 for a Premium version including additional categories, from Apple’s App Store.
“Evincible is new territory for Lycos,” explained CEO, Rob Balazy. “Historically, we have focused our development efforts on browser-based game experiences, so taking a mobile-first approach represents an exciting new endeavor for Lycos. We did not set out to simply remake the top game in the market; we developed Evincible to be uniquely fun and challengingly addictive.”
The new game launched in the App Store for iPhone and iPod touch on 11/28/12.
In Evincible, players can either challenge their Facebook friends or a complete stranger to a game. After selecting a category, players give their opponents three clues to guess a word. The more guesses it takes for the opponent to correctly guess the word, the more points the challenger receives. Categories range from groups of everyday words like Food or Household items to more pop-culture focused categories like Celebrities and Movie Titles.
